Call for Papers for Volume 1, Issue 1 of Ciencia en Perspectiva

The journal Ciencia en Perspectiva is pleased to announce the opening of the call for submissions for its first issue (Volume 1, Issue 1). This publication seeks to foster dialogue among various areas of scientific knowledge, promoting a comprehensive view of the advances, challenges, and dilemmas of contemporary science.

Types of accepted manuscripts:

  1. Original Scientific Articles

    Manuscripts presenting original research, organized into the sections: introduction, results, discussion, materials and methods, conclusions, and references. Additionally, they must include a "Relevance" section aimed at the general public, where authors explain the importance and potential impact of the research in areas such as society, local economy, health, or institutions, along with an explanatory graphic. Length: up to 7000 words (excluding references), maximum of 50 references and 6 graphic elements. Greater length is allowed upon consultation with the editorial committee. Articles derived from thesis work and university extension activities are also accepted.

  2. Brief Articles
    Manuscripts that present observations with immediate impact that may initiate new lines of research or provide relevant data on controversial or long-standing issues.
    Length: approximately 2000 words (including text, title, abstract, and figure legends), with up to 15 references.

  3. Review Articles

    Analysis and discussion of previously published research on a specific topic, providing the reader with a critical evaluation of the validity and applicability of these studies.
    Objective: to provide a comprehensive and evaluated overview of the current state of knowledge on a specific theme.

  4. Perspectives

    Articles that explore current scientific topics, neglected issues, or interdisciplinary themes where science interacts with other areas of knowledge. A varied narrative style is allowed, making it accessible to a broad audience. Perspectives aim to contextualize findings or add a new dimension to previous research and encourage the presentation of novel ideas and advances.
    Length: approximately 2500 words (excluding references), up to 2 graphics, and no abstract required.

Key dates:

  • Submission Deadline: April 15, 2025
  • Publication Date: Continuous publication; the article will be published as soon as its acceptance and review process is completed.
