Editorial Process

The editorial process of Ciencia en Perspectiva ensures the scientific and editorial quality of manuscripts through a rigorous three-stage peer review:

Initial Review: Upon receiving a manuscript, the Editorial Board, along with the Director and/or Editors of the journal, conducts a preliminary evaluation. In this stage, the article is checked to ensure it meets the scientific and editorial standards of Ciencia en Perspectiva, as well as the journal's objectives and focus. Only articles that satisfy these requirements are sent for peer review.

Peer Review: Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two experts in the specific subject area, chosen from researchers at recognized institutions, such as Science and Technology organizations, national and international universities. These reviewers issue a report determining whether the article is suitable for publication, requires revisions, or is not appropriate for publication. In cases of significant disagreement between reports, the manuscript is subjected to a third review, whose result will be decisive for the editorial decision.

Final Decision: The results of the external evaluation are analyzed by the Editorial Board, which makes a final decision on the acceptance, modification, or rejection of the article.

Article Evaluation Criteria

The Editorial Board considers the following general criteria when selecting articles for publication:

• Thematic Relevance: Articles should belong to disciplines such as Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Agroecology, Health and Environment, Science Education, and related fields. Interdisciplinary approaches that promote scientific collaboration are particularly valued.

• Scientific Quality: Fundamental aspects such as the originality of the research, the clarity of the hypothesis, the robustness of the results, and the scope of the study within its field of knowledge are evaluated.
